The Teledyne RD Instruments Workhorse Long Ranger 75 kHz ADCP is designed to reliably collect precise and detailed data on seasonal and annual current fluctuations for scientific research and offshore oil and gas projects. Long Ranger ADCPs, available in either self-contained, direct reading or remote-head configurations, can be deployed on offshore oil rigs, environmental monitoring buoys and polar research moorings in order to gather data in real time.
The Long Ranger ADCP can be programmed to operate in two modes for deployment flexibility. The Long range mode (600m), provides the longest proven profiling range available from a self-contained ADCP, while the high precision mode produces more precise measurements at a lesser range. Broadband signal processing is used to produce precise measurements and enable frequent sampling with an extended battery life. The Long Ranger’s extended deployment life and rugged construction ensures that it can be deployed for three, six or twelve-month long deployments in a variety of environments. The Long Ranger is operable to a depth of 1500m, with a configuration option that results in a 3000m depth rating.
