The Sea-Bird SBE 33 Carousel Deck Unit is used to provide surface power and real-time data acquisition and control for Sea-Bird water sampler carousel units. When powered by the SBE 33, a water sampler can be operated with or without a CTD. The deck unit additionally provides ample power for auxiliary sensors integrated with the CTD, and an LED display shows which bottles have been fired in real time.
The Sea-Bird SBE 33 Carousel Deck Unit is used to provide surface power and real-time data acquisition and control for Sea-Bird water sampler carousel units, including the SBE 32 Carousel Water Sampler (up to 24 bottles) with the SBE 33 interface installed, and the smaller SBE 55 ECO Water Sampler. When powered by the SBE 33, a water sampler can be used without a CTD, or in conjunction with a number of Sea-Bird CTDs, including the SBE 19plus V2. The deck unit system provides real-time data telemetry and surface power for the CTD, allowing for water sampler control with the SBE 33 front panel buttons, or using Sea-Bird Seasave software.
The deck unit provides a means for two-way communication over single- or multi-conductor sea cables, and delivers sufficient power for any auxiliary sensors that are integrated with the CTD. Bottles can be programmed to fire sequentially or in any order, and an LED display shows which bottles have been fired during data collection.
