The Nortek Signature55 is a dual-frequency long range current profiler that brings flexibility and accuracy to a variety of applications by incorporating broadband processing and modern electronics. The Signature55 is intended to be mounted on buoys and offshore platforms and drilling rigs for online applications, or in bottom frames and subsurface buoys in stand-alone mode, and has a verified open-ocean range of 1000m. The user can configure the Signature55 to operate in two alternating modes, in which profiling range and transmit power can be adjusted to achieve the desired measurement.
The Signature55 has been designed and tested extensively in order to accurately profile current velocity over 1000m. An Ethernet interface provides easy access to the instrument from any location, and fast recorder download. Using AD3CP, Nortek’s broadband Doppler signal processing platform, performance is maximized in both standard and specialized applications by combining frequency-modulated transmissions with fast sampling rates and adjustable bandwidth.
