Kongsberg M3 Multibeam Echosounder

The Kongsberg Mesotech M3 sonar is a multibeam sonar system with both imaging and profiling capabilities, providing high-resolution and easily interpretable images with both a high refresh rate and image quality comparable to a single-beam sonar system. Useful in such applications as marine engineering, shallow water bathymetric surveys, site inspection, environmental monitoring, site clearance and defense and security, the M3 system features a user-friendly interface and integrated tilt and pan/tilt control that results in significant time savings and ease of use.

The M3 Sonar can be pole or tripod mounted on a surface vessel, as well as a wide range of ROVs. Four pre-defined operating modes (imaging, enhanced image quality, ROV navigation and profiling) provide output data in a variety of formats and resolution to suit project parameters. The M3 can detect objects to a range of 150 meters with a 120° to 140° field of view, allowing the operator a view of the full underwater picture in real-time.
