The Trelleborg modular micro-buoy assembly is used in subsea infrastructure development or ROV deployment in order to hold equipment and infrastructure in a precise configuration. Able to be assembled in custom configurations to provide specific levels of buoyancy, the modular micro-buoys are useful in applications including the mooring of offshore vessels, weight compensation of subsea structures or offshore installation of subsea equipment.
Rated to a depth of 3,000 m and made of syntactic foam, the interlocking male and female spigots of the individual flotation modules prevent units from shifting or rotating when in use. By adding or removing individual units from the flotation stack, buoyancy can be adjusted in roughly 215-pound increments.
